Mission Statement

Our MISSION in the program serving deaf and hard of hearing learners in the School District of Waukesha is to provide students with equal access to a quality public school education through individual educational plans.  Comprehensive programming provides opportunities for students to achieve their full auditory, communicative, academic, and vocational potential.

Our VISION is for children with all degress of hearing loss to receive educational opportunities allowing them to achieve communication skills needed for lifelong learning.

We VALUE student's individual learning styles.

We VALUE our family partners educating children with hearing losses.

We VALUE our opportunity to provide a continuum of program options for deaf and hard of hearing learners in southeastern Wisconsin to meet indivdual learner needs educating children with hearing losses.

We VALUE and are committed as an instructional team of teachers, speech and language therapists, and paraprofessionals, to continued professional education so that we can offer children the latest educational strategies and intervention to address ongoing advances in the medical field and in technology.

We VALUE our unique opportunity to collaborate with professionals statewide sharing auditory-oral best teaching practicies throughout Wisconsin in the Preschool Auditory-Oral Statewide Demonstration Project.

Our GOAL is to provide quality educational programming for all children enrolled in the programs through individual educational plans developed through team collaboration. 

Our GOAL is to utilize current technology emphasizing the development of auditory skills in preacademic, academic, and social emotional area throughout the day.

Our GOAL is to promote the ability to listen and to integrate listening skills into a child's personality enhancing speech perception, speech discrimination, and speech production.
